Here I glitched screenshot of a Google Street View scene depicting the plaza outside the Università degli Studi di Milano, taken in May 2016. I used digital processing to create a distorted, pixelated effect, blending the architectural elements and introducing a sense of fragmentation and disruption.
The juxtaposition of the modern, angular buildings and the fragmented, abstract visual treatment suggests a commentary on the relationship between the built environment, technology, and the human experience of urban spaces.
With this I invite you to consider the ways in which digital tools and algorithms can transform our perception of physical reality, highlighting both the potential and the limitations of technology in mediating our interactions with the world and future around us.
