Connection Lost

Completed December 20th, 2018 I thought a lot about disconnection and lost connections while making this piece. The visuals show a colorful static field of hand painted glitch effects inspired by unintentional digital glitches, but created with brushes intentionally. The ghosted forms of 3 cubes overlapping in the center is meant to feel multi-dimensional and have no sense of which cube is on top or bottom of the others. They exist together in a relationship of context, but are not tied together by physical space. The erratic lightning is the electricity that powers digital files and is in delicate balance with the sensitive chips it flows through to show you this image. When it's out of control, the chaos wins, and the system breaks down. Connection Lost.
