This special edition of PIE symbolizes the recognition and acceptance of the “other side” in a relationship. Object reflects subject as patterns of half-baked love burn to ash. Release is realized and false illusions of separateness are shed.
Released on the occasion of the exhibition PIE in Berlin: a poem in culinary translation, the work consists of the handwritten poem and a soundscape merging the voice of Elisabeth Sweet and sounds recorded while hana betakova from rustcakes translated and baked the poem into cake.
The work is accompanied by a physical artwork which exhibited in Berlin. The collector of the single edition NFT also receives the physical work.
About the physical work:
The physical artwork is composed of custom printed glass and a hand painted frame sealed with ashes of palo santo, sage, sunflower petals, dried roses, incense, and a handwritten note. The glass is printed with PIE as it appears in the 1/1. Chrome backing reminds the reader to reflect on notions of separateness with others and the self.
